Wildlife Vaasa 2008

The animation "Vanten" (Glove) that children produced with me at the kindergarten where we started animateing participated in Wildlife Vaasa festival. It was shown on the big screen and was among the five best in the category Film made by children. Vanten was the last animation I made with children at this kindergarten. I hope they will carry on and let chidren make animations under years to come.



Letting children animate and explore different kinds of media is something I always will do. And hopefully soon there will be two kindergartens in Vaasa that takes advantage of the benefits and joy in makeing animations and explore different kinds of medias.

Shorter version

The animation is Award Winning and putting Vaasa on the map as a city with modern ways and knowledge. The children that made this animation was at the time age of five and six. Children and the process of making animations are learning by doing experiences that inspires to try different alternatives.

Could animating be easier

Yes! It doesn’t need to be more difficult than you make it. Animation can be made whit digital camera, video camera, web camera, camera on a mobile phone. Pictures can be edited with video editing program like Mowie Maker where sound and text can be added.

Modiga riddare (Brave knights)

Animation with all ingredients a film needs. The animation was made under short time and with a tight budget. The Knights had a small salary and will not return fore part two they hawe reported.
